About Our Boarding Kennels
As a professional and caring kennels we pride ourselves in getting to know your dog as an individual. Having trained hundreds of dogs and years of experience in caring for different temperaments and breeds we are confident we can provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment for your dog.
Exercise
Being highly sociable pack animals we love to give your dog the opportunity to play with other dogs when appropriate. This can be especially beneficial for young dogs and those that cannot be let off the lead at home. We exercise some dogs in small groups when the owner is happy for us to do so and on their own when they are not a good mixer or have medical conditions eg ligament problems. We also have the option to walk our dogs over fields if they need some extra attention away from the other dogs. Having so many years of experience in training and handling dogs we are confident our routine provides a great balance between exercise and rest in a comfortable environment.
Feeding, Water, Diets and Medication
Quite simply we provide everything your dog needs but you are more than welcome to bring your own food. We keep as close as possible to your feeding routine at home whether that be once, twice or more often per day. As a nutritionist and over 20 years experience in feeding clients dogs Aled is confident in ensuring each dog has a diet most suited to their digestion, weight and activity level. If you are having difficulty with any feeding issues please inform us when you bring your dog and we are happy to try and help.
Administering medications are never a problem as we regularly care for diabetics, epileptics those with joint and heart problems as well as dogs on chemotherapy. Please bring any medications or supplements with your dog and we will take instructions from you or your vet on dosage and frequency of the dosage. Water bowls are cleaned daily and continually kept full.
Vets, Vaccination and Insurance
We have a great working relationship with the local vets and should your dog become ill whilst with us, we will endeavour to use your vet to care for your dog. For any injury or new illness we will cover all vets fees in the unfortunate event that there is a problem, as all dogs are insured with Petplan included in the price of the stay.
We require annual vaccinations to be up to date and request you bring your vets card with you on your first visit and thereafter annually after a booster vaccination as we keep all your dogs records on our database. Kennel Cough vaccination is recommended but not compulsory but if you are concerned please give us a ring as we are happy to give advice and details on this condition.
Bedding, Bowls and Toys
We provide freshly laundered Vetbed and baskets, feed and water bowls which are washed thoroughly between each feed. We have feed stands for those dogs prone to torsion. If you want to bring anything for your dog you are most welcome.
Accommodation and Heating
We have two kennel buildings of different design to suit various dogs. We have family rooms for up to four dogs. Private individual rooms for smaller and younger dogs and also safety kennels with outdoor runs which many of our police dog handlers use. Every room is heated with a lamp with various heat settings depending on the temperature, but conversely all the rooms are well insulated and ventilated to keep them cool in summer.
Additional Information
We occasionally have a special request which we will always try and accommodate. Please feel free to ask. If you have any further questions please give a ring or turn up during the opening times and have a look around and we can discuss your dogs needs.
Your peace of mind is our aim.
